“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was “thank you”, that would suffice.”
My daily prayers for myself and for a world filled with tension and fear:
Thank you for a gorgeous sunset last night.
Thank you for a warm and lovely day today.
Thank you for 6 people who trusted their hearts with me today.
Thank you for all the many kindnesses in the world
Thank you for all the love that surrounds us all.
Thank you for a good night’s sleep.
Thank you for mind and memories.
Thank you for trusting me to live my life in dignity and with respect.
So many prayers. Everyone a lifting of the heart and a lightning of the spirit. Thank you for giving me the wisdom to not listen to the news for one full day.
“In the midst of all this shit there surely must be a pony,” said the boy frantically searching through the barn yard mud and mess.
Today’s world: A barn yard full of mud and mess. Yes. Where is the pony?
In the sunrise and the sunset, in the melting snow promising spring, in Aimee’s innocence and ever lasting love, in the laughter of the 3 year old who lives next door, in the eyes of the kind tow truck driver who helped me yesterday……there is always a pony. We have to look.
There is always a prayer. We have to stay open to love and hope.
