“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was “thank you”, that would suffice.”
As I prepare to leave for US to share Thanksgiving with my family, I am tenderly aware of the power of those two simple words: thank you.
Thank you for life.
Thank you for love.
Thank you for beauty, laughter, sunsets, hummingbirds, autumn colours, kind faces, caring hands, warm hearts.
Thank you for food, for smiles, for deep dreams and restful sleep.
Thank you for 80 blessed years of adventure, change, struggle, opportunity, peace, progress with anxiety, learning to be a grown up
My list could go on and on. I don’t say enough thank yous. I don’t give enough hugs. I don’t look enough people in the eye and say I love you.
If not, let’s try together to do better. We are capable. We can learn. We can change. Our brains are made to be hard wired; however, we can change that wiring when we want to….if we want to. I want to be bigger, better, smarter, quicker, kinder, wiser. Those are my plans for the future. What are yours?
- I am grateful that I know I can still change. You can, if fact, teach an old dog new tricks. I want to be “trickier”, if you will, for the last 2 decades of my life!
- I am grateful the wind has settled a bit and it doesn’t feel impossible to go out doors.
- I am grateful my son and daughter in law want me with them for Thanksgiving
- I am grateful I have the resources and the health to travel
- I am grateful I am me
I will not be doing these Missals for a while. Maybe not until the first of the year. Have lovely safe holidays and I will be back in 2017.
Blessings and Love always, Nancy
