“Try: Asking yourself from time to time, “Am I awake now?”
As a child I often sang this song to myself as I skipped down the sidewalk to school or rode my precious two wheel bike toward the beach: “Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.”
When I sang that little ditty to myself I would wonder….am I in a dream? Is life real? Am I real?
What I ask now is how do I stay fully in the moment? How do I let go of future fear and hold close to me the beauty and the comfort of now. NOW I am safe, NOW I am happy, NOW I am……To be fully awake I think I have to be fully aware of each moment. My inside self can trick me into drifting off into a place of chatter and clutter and chaos and possibily even fear. Mindfully pulling my energy into my heart and my core self keeps me out of the dream and in the only reality I am aware of NOW.
Be conscious and intentional about surrounding your outside self and your inside self with the colours and sounds and feelings and tastes and textures of the moment. Each moment will gently take care of itself hence you will be safe moment by moment.
