“Just because it is what you do best doesn’t mean you have to do it.”

Hugh Prather in Notes on Love and Courage

Amazing! How freeing. What a wonderful idea! Who knew you could let go of every day parenting when the kids are grown and turn to something you forgot can give you pleasure! Who knew I could turn from daily guiding and facilitating couples and write! Who knew? I forgot, did you?

I bet there have been times in your life when you have felt stuck in doing something that others count on you to do just because you are so good at doing it. Maybe you would like to hone some new skills. Or make a mess of something while giving it a try…..just because.

Elizabeth Gilbert in Big Magic advocates and encourages and wholly supports having fun with what you are doing. So often we think work/life should be tough. Life should be a struggle, difficult, hard, a miserably struggle. Often times it is. But it doesn’t have to be always that way. Have fun with what you do during your day time hours. Love what you do after day time hours. Life is short and fun is healthy.

  • I am grateful a dear friend is coming today and we shall have fun
  • I am grateful Aimee makes me laugh
  • I am grateful I love to guide clients and I love to write and I can do both
  • I am grateful for a wonderful night’s sleep last night.

Hugs and blessings, Nancy
