“Everyone has a purpose in life…..a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals”
Deepak Chopra in his book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
Have you thought about your gifts lately? What it is you especially have to offer the world? What is it you love……that is your gift. Do you garden? Cook? Keep a neat and tidy home? Are you especially good at your job? Do you love music, art, laughter, fun, pleasure, reading, writing, painting…..Your gift is what it is you truly like doing. Do you like to talk? Is your gift listening, suggesting solutions, creating new ideas.
I think often times we are reluctant to acknowledge that we are gifted. Somehow it seems self-important or grandiose thinking. But I believe it is true that everyone is born with a particular talent, something they really like to do or feel they do well, and I believe it is our God-given right and responsibility to accept that gift and to proudly share it with the rest of the world. Or share them, because we certainly may have many gifts to offer. There need be no shame in saying right out loud: I love to organize, I love to swim, I love to teach, I love to listen, I love to plant, or build, or dream or whatever…..it is all good and important and as Chopra says, “….the ultimate goal of goals.” To share what we love to do with others is providing an important service.
Gifts of attention, guidance, support, art, playfulness, love, understanding……… freely given, help others realize how lovable and valued and wanted they are.
