“My religion is kindness.”

The Dali Lama as quoted in Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book Wherever You Go There You Are

I have been meditating, literally, in the northern Michigan woods and on Lake Michigan for the last while. My daughter lent me her copy of Kabat-Zinn’s lovely and wise and easy to digest and book. The above quote is so simple…..and so lovely…..and so gracious.

Again and again I have experienced the power of kindness in my life. Just in the past few weeks as I reach out, I ask, I am contactable, I stay grounded and solid, I am available…..and I am met with kindness, helpfulness, love, generosity. I have been blessed.

I wish the same for you. I believe quiet time to breathe and settle oneself so as to be able to receive is one of the secrets of realizing how much kindness there is the world for each one of us. A smile from you, a soft face, interested look from your eyes, attentive body language, taking time to pause and listen to what you are being told. The benefits of giving kindness is almost always receiving kindness.

  • I am grateful for the time in my life
  • I am grateful I am learning to settle and trust my own intuition
  • I am grateful I am loved and I trust I know how to love
  • I am grateful for the richness I am receiving that comes from the seeds I have planted for many decades.

Hugs and love always, Nancy
