“When you work you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music.”
Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet
Our work is scared. Whatever it is we do that we call work, what we put our heart to, what we find beauty and satisfaction in, what calls us, what whispers to us; yes, it turns to music, it fills your heart and feeds your soul. If your work does not do this your body, mind and spirit will insist you find something that will fill your heart and feed your soul…..or you will become ill. Your mind will become filled with chaos or you body will crumble into a heap of rags.
What feeds us changes over a life time. There is an ebb and flow. Now this, now that, now I don’t know but am willing to stay with the longing and the not knowing until something peaks at me through a tiny crack in the window of my creative self. I must, you must, create! Our longing to create is our longing for immortality. How do I leave a bit of me painted on the soul of the future? By staying true to myself. But staying alive to what I long to be doing. By remembering all of who I am.
Blessings dear ones. Follow your creative longings. It will help you stay alive, fill you with hope, and your spirit will find balance and harmony.
